Founder of Steady Allies
About Nadia
I’m Nadia, a mom of two boys. I started Steady Allies because I needed support that didn’t depend on finding a romantic partner.
I wanted practical help, community, and another steady adult my boys could get to know over time. For my family, that included a positive male presence: someone respectful and reliable, who could help model how people should treat one another. I wanted those connections to grow gradually, with clear boundaries.
I also needed help around the house. And I wanted my boys to experience a community where people show up for each other, everyone has something to offer, and asking for help is normal.
I could see the other side, too. I have time and skills to offer other households. Other adults want to share what they know, help with a project, or feel more connected to the people around them, but don’t always know where to start. A shared meal, a useful skill, or a familiar face at the table can mean a lot to everyone involved.
Steady Allies is being built to make those connections easier. The idea is a non-romantic partnership between a household and a supportive adult, called an Anchor, with clear expectations and contributions from both sides.
We’re developing the model around screening, written agreements, and firm boundaries: the Keeper stays present, and there are no overnight stays. The Keeper is always home, and an Anchor is never alone with a child unless the Keeper allows it in writing. An Anchor isn’t a replacement parent. The purpose is to build a dependable connection that adds support and community to everyday life.
This is early. I’m building it because I needed something like this, and because I keep meeting people who need it, too.
Whether you’re a parent looking for support or an adult with time and skills to share, I’d love to hear from you. Join the early-access list or send a message about what you’re looking for and what you’d bring.
